  • We proudly developed Future Felt® fabric for a cleaner planet. An RPET (Recycled Polyester) fabric which we have trademarked Future Felt® in all of our products.
  • We conceptualized another fabric called Future Tex® which is a mix of RPET plastic bottles and textile waste.
  • Committed to using and conceptualizing sustainable materials where possible.

 

2. Empowering Artisans within our Manufacturing House

  • Luxury Joinery lifestyle and travel products handcrafted and produced by our Joinery Artisans.
  • Crafting every piece in-house, on African soil, within our own Joinery facility. Designing and manufacturing collections for our Joinery brand
  • Collaborating with global clients, creating bespoke, sustainable products for retailers, hotels and corporates, blending their vision with our strong brand identity and unique Joinery Artisanal, Made in Africa story.
  • Local production means reducing the carbon footprint associated with production and transportation, while supporting the local economy.
  • o Working with a sewing NGO, The African Fashion Academy, to train up women seamstresses in a sewing and business program. We upskill and provide training to all our production staff inhouse.
  • As a member of the Bargaining Council, this means fair wages, benefits and safer workplaces for our Artisans.


3. Minimizing Footprint

  • Sustainable materials: Vegan leather and leather as a by-product of the meat industry.
  • Vegetable tanned leather made from tree barks and vegetable tannins.
  • Eco-friendly packaging and tape made from recycled paper, recycled card swing tags and biodegradable kimbles, eco inks and natural fibres.
  • We re-use off cuts from our fabric in making new small products and stuffing for ottomans and cushions.
  • We donate off cut fabric to local schools and projects for arts and crafts, including Pebbles Project, Butterfly Project, Excelsior School
  • We send our thread spools back to the manufacturer who deliver them to the blind school to clean them, they are then re-used
